Pakistan's winning streak continues while Chasing in Twenty20

On continuation with Pakistan’s 6 wicket win over New Zealand in 2nd Twenty20 at Dubai, Pakistan set a world record of 11 successive t20 wins while chasing.

After losing first match by 2 runs at Abu Dhabi, New Zealand has won the toss and chose to bat first in second t20 match at Dubai. Despite Glenn Phillips’s 5(12) poor opening, New Zealand crossed 50 in power play with the help of Colin Munro ‘s 44(28). Post power play New Zealand struggles to put runs on board as it losses wickets of Colin Munro 44(28), Colin de Grandhomme 4(8), Ross Taylor 3(7). However middle order all-rounder Corey Anderson’s 25-ball 44 helped New Zealand to cross 150. New Zealand ended up with 153/7 in first innings. Shaheen Afridi (Just 18 years old) took 3 wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs.

Pakistan put a good opening partnership of 40 runs in 4.4 overs later Fakhar Zaman departs with 24(15) by Milne. Babar Azam 40(41) and Asif Ali 38(34) built a partnership to avoid wicket loss, and scores nearly run-a-ball 56(50). Its must to build a partnership as soon as the first wicket has gone, and Pakistan batsmen understands the situation very well. Even thought run rate falls under required run rate, they didn't lose any wickets in quick intervals. Finally the experienced Mohammad Hafeez (34 off 21 balls) finishes of the match and Pakistan won by 6 wickets and 2 balls to spare. With this win Pakistan have won the series with one match left. They have not lost any matches while batting second in last 11 twenty 20s.

Adam Milne took 2 wickets for 25 runs (2.4 overs). Colin de Grandhomme has managed to deliver an economical spell (21runs in 5 overs, 0 wickets), and Tim Southee did his job well. But rest of the bowlers failed to contribute. Also failure of taking wickets at regular interval took game away from the Black Cops.

Shaheen Afridi of Pakistan is the man of the match for his 3 for 20 (4 overs).

Pakistan are really good at both defending as well as chasing. Won by just 2 runs in first match and won the game with 2 balls spare, where required run rate is over 10 runs per over in last 4 overs shows Pakistan is good at shorter formats. That is why they are number 1 in Twenty20 format.
